Interview with Nik Hardwick of Supercar Experiences UK

Few of us are lucky enough to open our garage and see a Ferrari parked inside, but how about seeing two – or even a dozen different supercars? Enter Nik Hardwick, the owner of Supercar Experiences, a premier luxury car hire company based in the United Kingdom. This lucky entrepreneur has turned his love of luxury vehicles into a thriving business, and we were fortunate enough to get a few minutes of his time to learn just how it is to live the car-lover’s dream!

Luxury Branded: Hi Nik! First off, what supercars have you packed into your garage?

Nik: Hi, I am fortunate enough to have many supercars in my collection, including Aston Martin’s, Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Bentley’s, Porsche’s, Audi R8’s and Range Rovers. It is a stunning mix of sports cars and luxury cars with beautiful interiors.

Luxury Branded: Do you have a favourite?

Nik: That’s a tough question. I would have to say that it is either the Ferrari 458 or the Lamborghini Aventador, both are excellent cars.

Luxury Branded: So besides going for beautiful coastal tours, do you also get to take them out for little trips to Tesco and things like that?

Nik: Of course, it is definitely one of the biggest perks of the jobs, a car for every occasion!

Luxury Branded: Why did you start the business?

Nik: I have been passionate about Ferrari’s ever since I was a child, and after doing some research into the market, I realised that the quickest way to own one would be to hire it out.

Luxury Branded: Do you have a typical client for your rentals, and which model is the most popular?

Nik: We have a diverse clientele, ranging from people with serious amounts of money to others who have saved up all their life to have the opportunity to drive a supercar, and everything in between. Many of the clients rent supercars for special occasions, such as birthday surprises, anniversary gifts, weddings and funerals (which I have surprisingly had quite a few of). Other major reasons include corporate events, photo or video shooting. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular rentals are Ferrari’s, Aston Martin’s and Lamborghini’s.

Luxury Branded: What do people get up to when they take one of your babies out?

Nik: In the majority of cases, a rental is for a special occasion of some sort, such as a wedding, so the customers are just putting the icing on top of a great weekend by hiring a supercar.

Luxury Branded: With weather in Britain similar to ours here in Vancouver, are your rentals more seasonal?

Nik: Our peak season is normally April to October during the British summer, so this has always traditionally been our busiest time; however, it is an all-year-round business.

Luxury Branded: Which car do you think you will add next to your collection?

Nik: A Ferrari F12 would be nice! It would be great to have another Lamborghini rental, for example the new Hurácan when it is launched next year.

Luxury Branded: While you already have a pile of dream cars, do you have any other models you dream of owning?

Nik: The Ferrari Enzo will always be my dream car; although a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT California runs it close!
