Glamping Market Is On The Up And Up

A brand new report from Grand View Research about the glamping market was just put out and we were pleased to see this trend is still on the rise. Experiential travel is one of my favorite topics within the luxury industry, it’s an exciting area that has endless possibilities for both the brands and customers. I’ve even got my hands dirty a bit in this sector with Butiq Escapes as we do a completely custom heli-glamping experience.

Within that report by Grand View Research, they state that the glamping market size is expected to reach a whopping USD 4.8 billion by 2025. What’s causing that uptick in glamping jetsetters? Well, among the multitude of factors there is a clear rise in popularity of wellness tourism throughout the globe. There is an increasing number of travelers seeking to experience raw nature without losing a few of the key luxury touches here and there.

This glamping report is mainly aimed for hotel brands, glamping startups and those looking to expand their markets. Cabin and pods held up the largest portion of the market share last year and is estimated to be witness the fastest growth over the next forecasted period. If you’re into this business, you should check out their glamping report before planning your next marketing push.

Key suggestions from the report:

  • Cabin and pods held the largest market share of 45.0% in 2018 and is anticipated to continue its dominance over the forecast period owing to the advantages offered by this accommodation type such as safety and luxurious amenities
  • 18 to 32 year and 33 to 50 year age groups hold more than 75.0% of market share owing to increasing number of campers seeking rough camping experience along with luxe amenities
  • In 2019, Tribute Portfolio, Marriott International’s hotel collection brand launched Natra Bintan, a total of 100 safari-themed tents offering glamping in exotic hubs of Bintan Island and Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago
