Doettling x Year Zero PopArt Colosimo Safe

Doettling is known for their high-tech luxury safes for any and all of your most prized possessions. They also offer a high-level of customization, from appearance to features. The brand has recently revealed their first collaborative project, with London-based designers Year Zero. Based off Doettling’s signature Colosimo luxury safe, which name comes from the infamous Chicago gangster “Big Jim” Colosimo. Big Jim’s bank robberies in the early 1900s led to the use of massive bank vaults with huge round doors and complex locking mechanisms, which we see today. The Colosimo safe takes the style and technology of a big bank vault and scales it down to a 1:13 the size, to fit comfortably in your room, closet or even desk.

This PopArt Colosimo is an hand-painted, cartoon-inspired  piece that is limited to only one. They’ve taken the Colosimo safe and converted it into a money bin, with a cash box slot on the top to slip your bills into.  Besides the comical exterior, the interior is also painted, depicting piles of gold coins and moneybags, reminiscent of Scrooge McDuck’s money bin.
