A Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime Just Sold For Over $31 Million

On November 9th a new record for a sale of a luxury watch was recorded and it was for a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300A-010. This timepiece has never been worn, is one of one and was built specifically to raise money for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A sale of this magnitude has broken the record for most expensive watch ever sold at auction.

So what watch holds the previous record for most expensive timepiece? Well it is them again with a 1932 Patek Philippe watch, which sold for 24ish million to an anonymous buyer at a 2014 auction at Sotheby’s in Geneva. The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime is a very stunning piece that is more so for a private collection that will most likely never be worn outside, especially this model. Luckily for us, Hodinkee got their hands on one and did an excellent review that gets up close and personal.
