World’s Most Expensive Dog x Red Tibetan Mastiff

worlds most expensive dog

I was curious about what the world’s most expensive dog is/was/will be and came across this Red Tibetan Mastiff which was bought last year for $1.5 million USD. This breed is as you guessed quite rare and hails from Tibet where it has known to been guard dogs for monasteries, Genghis Khan and apparently Lord Buddha. The economy has pushed the prices for these dogs sky high as if they were a precious metal, especially with the influx of the new rich in China throughout the past few years. This dog is only 11 months in the above picture and his name is Hong Dong or also known as Big Splash and already weighs more than 180lbs.
