Wearable Tech Revolution Coming To The Luxury Industry

Wearable technology is one field that has a tremendous amount of untapped potential, but which hasn’t quite taken off just yet. While we fully expect this to change in the coming years, it’s important to think about why it hasn’t “clicked” with the general public just yet, and what designers can do to change that in the future. With that in mind, this video from the folks at the business intelligence company L2 sheds some light on how consumer perception is affecting this cutting edge industry.

While the intriguing Google Glass devices may have become a trend in some tech circles, it’s still generally regarded with either indifference or derision by most fashion-conscious individuals.

But will that perception continue to stand up if brands like Gucci or Louis Vuitton start designing wearable tech? And what kinds of incredible technologies will watch brands like Rolex and Cartier be adding to their timepieces in the coming years? These are open questions, but we’re expecting big things – and so, it seems, is L2!
